Ray’s question to Karen:

Q: Tomorrow is Thanksgiving! What do you look forward to more – the turkey, all of the sides that go with the meal, or the dessert?

A: I’m all about the sides! I do love the turkey, and all the glorious scents that fill the house when roasting one, but all those sides are amazing!

Karen’s Question to Ray:

Q: Speaking of Thanksgiving sides, the households of all three of her children still make your mother’s stuffing, which vies with mashed potatoes for the top ranking for me. Yet, although they all taste the same in the end, she taught us all slightly differently. What do you think she would say about these yearly debates/arguments? Is she laughing at us?

A: Shall I start the debate again right here? You simply failed to write down the fact that she said to include an egg! 🙂 But… that really wasn’t the question was it?

If there is one thing I can say without a doubt, it is that she is definitely laughing at us as we rekindle the same argument each year during our Thanksgiving prep – mom had a terrific sense of humor! Our annual argument is also something that I have actually become thankful for during that time of year – it’s a moment to stop and laugh during all of the hard work of making such a big dinner, as well as a moment to stop and think of mom.
