Ray’s question to Karen:

Q: In March of last year you wrote about your new Emile Henry bread/potato pot. Are you still loving it, not using it that often or has it totally fallen into the dreaded kitchen gadget graveyard?

A: Still love it, but I haven’t baked as many no knead loaves recently, so it has not seen as much use as I would like. In fact, I’ve had complaints about it! This family loves bread. The real reason it hasn’t had as much use, is simply because I’ve been exploring other bakes in the cookbook club, which leaves less time. So, now I feel guilty and think I will go mix dough right this minute.

Karen’s Question to Ray:

Q: You also wrote about your new KitchenAid bread bowl/baker. Still using it as much?

A: Yes – still using it quite frequently. Being able to mix, rise and bake all in one bowl makes it so easy to have a fresh hot loaf of bread in no time. The only thing that might cause me to use it a little less frequently over the next few months is the summer heat – we try to avoid the oven as much as we can on super hot days. It does happen to be a cooler day today however – perhaps I’ll follow your lead and whip up a loaf!
