Welcome to the place where your two bloggers ask each other one question each week. We hope you enjoy them as your learn a bit more about us – sometimes we even learn more about each other!
Ray’s question to Karen:
Q: Have you had a kitchen disaster recently when cooking?
A: I have had several! The most recent was the day I baked carrot cake and clearly used the wrong sized pan. The cake vomited all over my new oven which created a burnt mess on the bottom of the oven. When attempting a sheet pan intervention, I burned my arm which was large and painful, but thankfully didn’t leave a scar. I’d like to try that recipe again though, because although not presentable, it tasted great!
Karen’s Question to Ray:
Q: What cookbook do you reach for most often?
A: While it can easily change over time, lately I have been looking at a lot of the recipes in two cookbooks, both by Lidia Bastianich. One is called “Lidia Cooks From the Heart of Italy” and the other is “Lidia’s Italy in America.” Both are signed copies that were given to me as gifts from my wife Lori. I haven’t made anything from either one yet, but I have been wanting to try some of the recipes out. Here we are at the start of a new year – what better time to begin?
