Wednesday Q&A – 12/8/21

Ray’s question to Karen:

Q: Is everything really better with bacon?

A: Not everything, but many things. We often have a big bag of bacon bits from Costco in the refrigerator, and it is surprising how often Ryan jumps up at the start of dinner to “improve” the dish that we have just finished preparing. Often Tom remarks, “Why didn’t I think of that?” I also think in the sweet category that it goes particularly well with chocolate. There is a restaurant in downtown Greenville that serves a candied bacon brownie that is to die for. On the other hand, I don’t think bacon would add much to a lemon meringue pie!

Karen’s Question to Ray:

Q: Cake, cookies, pie or something else?

A: I like cake and cookies equally, pie would be in last place – I like the filling, but not the crust! I’m going to go with the something else option though and say brownies! I generally prefer salty to sweet, but I usually won’t pass on a brownie!
