Welcome to the place where your two bloggers ask each other one question each week. We hope you enjoy them as your learn a bit more about us – sometimes we even learn more about each other!
Ray’s question to Karen:
Q: Is there a particular food that your mother made when you were growing up that you don’t like?
A: As you know, there are not very many foods that I don’t like. There was one dish she made that I took one look at and would never even try (which is not really like me). It was asparagus casserole made with canned asparagus. As it turns out, I do like asparagus, but to this day have never eaten it from a can!
Karen’s Question to Ray:
Q: How do you feel about Spam?
A: I can remember one random time when I was growing up that my mom made Spam and eggs. I don’t think I was older than 10 at the time, but I clearly remember asking her what made her use “that stuff.” I guess she was feeling nostalgic because she told me my grandma made it from time to time when she was growing up – the stuff was introduced in 1937! That was the only time I’ve ever tasted it – I don’t recall it being particularly offensive in any way but with only one experience under my belt, it is hard to form an opinion.
