Welcome to the place where your two bloggers ask each other one question each week. We hope you enjoy them as your learn a bit more about us – sometimes we even learn more about each other!
Ray’s question to Karen:
Q: Do you have a particular dish that you used to love, but totally hate now?
A: After thinking for a while, I finally came up with an answer. As you know, with the exception of tarragon and cow’s liver, I like most foods. But as far as a dish that I no longer care to consume, it would probably be French Onion Soup. It absolutely does not agree with me.
Karen’s Question to Ray:
Q: What was the first thing you learned to cook?
A: The earliest memories that come to mind are my mom’s sugar cookies and my grandma’s bread – although I’m not sure if I truly learned to cook them on my own that early. It was more them mixing up the dough and me helping mom cut and decorate the cookies or grandma roll out the loaves of bread.
As far as actually learning a recipe in a real school setting, it would have to be 6th grade Home Ec – all students took it for one quarter (do they even have Home Ec anymore??) and ironically considering your answer above…. the thing that comes to mind first is French Onion Soup!

French onion soup is very sophisticated for a 6th grade home ec class! I remember making english muffin pizzas!

We made those too! We also made bread and as I recall, our kitchen had to sit that round out because we killed the yeast with water that was too hot! 😃
